Low-redshift constraints on covariant canonical Gauge theory of gravity

چکیده

Constraints on the Covariant Canonical Gauge Gravity (CCGG) theory from low-redshift cosmology are studied. The formulation extends Einstein's of General Relativity (GR) by a quadratic Riemann-Cartan term in Lagrangian, controlled "deformation" parameter. In Friedman universe this leads to an additional geometrical stress energy and promotes, due necessary presence torsion, cosmological constant time-dependent function. MCMC analysis combined data sets Type Ia Supernovae, Cosmic Chronometers Baryon Acoustic Oscillations yields fit that is well comparable with $\Lambda$CDM results. modifications implied CCGG approach turn out be subdominant cosmology. However, non-zero spatial curvature deformation parameter shown consistent observations.

A New Perspective on Covariant Canonical Gravity

We present a new approach to the covariant canonical formulation of EinsteinCartan gravity that preserves the full Lorentz group as the local gauge group. The method exploits lessons learned from gravity in 2+1 dimensions regarding the relation between gravity and a general gauge theory. The dynamical variables are simply the frame field and the spin-connection pulled-back to the hypersurface, ...

Manifestly covariant canonical quantization II: Gauge theory and anomalies

In hep-th/0411028 a new manifestly covariant canonical quantization method was developed. The idea is to quantize in the phase space of arbitrary histories first, and impose dynamics as first-class constraints afterwards. The Hamiltonian is defined covariantly as the generator of rigid translations of the fields relative to the observer. This formalism is now applied to theories with gauge symm...

Covariant W Gravity & its Moduli Space from Gauge Theory

In this paper we study arbitrary W algebras related to embeddings of sl2 in a Lie algebra g. We will give a simple general formula for all W transformations, which will enable us to construct the covariant action for general W gravity. It turns out that this covariant action is nothing but a Fourier transform of the WZW action. The same general formula provides a ‘geometrical’ interpretation of...

Gauge Theory of Gravity

The quantum gravity is formulated based on principle of local gauge invariance. The model discussed in this paper has local gravitational gauge symmetry and gravitational field appears as gauge field. The problems on quantization and renormalization of the theory are also discussed in this paper. In leading order approximation, the gravitational gauge field theory gives out classical Newton’s t...

Gravity and Gauge Theory∗

Gauge theories are theories that are invariant under a characteristic group of “gauge” transformations. General relativity is invariant under transformations of the diffeomorphism group. This has prompted many philosophers and physicists to treat general relativity as a gauge theory, and diffeomorphisms as gauge transformations. I argue that this approach is misguided. The theories of three of ...
